Liar – K L Slater (Blog Tour)

Welcome to my stop of the blog tour for K L Slater’s latest thriller, Liar!Liar-Blog-Tour

Rating: 4.5/5

Read: 27th May 2017 – 2nd June 2017

How far would you go to protect your family?

Single dad Ben is doing his best to raise his children, with the help of his devoted mother Judi. And then Ben meets Amber. Everyone thinks this is a perfect match for Ben but Judi isn’t so sure…

There’s just something about Amber that doesn’t add up. Ben can’t see why his mother dislikes his new girlfriend. And Amber doesn’t want Judi anywhere near her new family. Amber just wants Ben and the children.

The further Judi delves into Amber’s personal life, the closer she gets to shocking secrets that could change everything. And Judi must make a decision that could lead to the most disastrous consequences.

It was so obvious Amber was up to no good from the first chapter, she seemed so sneaky and determined to get noticed by Ben, but why? I couldn’t wait for the story to unfold and discover her intentions with the Jukes family, incredibly intrigued to learn why she was going after this certain family, what had they done wrong to her? Or were they innocent? Feeling so sorry for Judi, I was completely on her side, hating Amber and just wanted Ben to see her for what she really was and leave her.

There were so many aspects of uncertainty all the way through this novel, I couldn’t decide what was going on with a number of characters and how the story would continue! For example it was fairly obvious Henry was up to something, but what? Or was he really where he said he was every day? I also couldn’t quite figure Fiona out, didn’t know whether to pity her or think she was somehow involved with the Jukes family in ways Judi had no idea! All of this made the suspense build and pace quicken with every page!!

Absolutely loved how cleverly written this book was, especially how the book begins with the ending and the whole time I was reading that scene was constantly in my head, the big question is, who was holding the knife?! Really thought I’d figured it all out but

img_3269wow I was so wrong! The ending of this book was incredible and I did not see the twist coming in a million years! I’m in shock by it now!

A factor which made this book EVEN BETTER was I had the luxury of reading it whilst staying over and being pampered at Hoar Cross Hall! Simply perfecttt!

A huge thank you to Kim Nash and Bookouture for my advance copy of this overwhelming thriller!!

  1. You are the second who seems to be utterly surprised.. I’m normally really good at figuring things out so I think I really want to accept this challenge here ;-). I also really like the format of a novel that gives a teaser of the ending and then you have to wait to get back to it in the end, all the while keeping those little cogs turning in your head. Great review !

    1. Honestly I didnt see the twist coming in this AT ALL!! It’s a brilliant way to start a novel and keeps the reader extra intrigued all the way through! I highly recommend and hope you get round to reading! Thanks sooo much!! X
