Tess and Gus are meant to be. They just haven’t met properly yet. And perhaps they never will . . .
Today is the first day of the rest of your life is the motto on a plate in the kitchen at home, and Tess can’t get it out of her head, even though she’s in Florence for a final, idyllic holiday before university. Her life is about to change forever – but not in the way she expects.
Gus and his parents are also on holiday in Florence. Their lives have already changed suddenly and dramatically. Gus tries to be a dutiful son, but longs to escape and discover what sort of person he is going to be.
For one day, the paths of an eighteen-year-old girl and boy criss-cross before they each return to England.
Over the course of the next sixteen years, life and love will offer them very different challenges. Separated by distance and fate, there’s no way the two of them are ever going to meet each other properly . . . or is there?
I needed to find the perfect book I could get completely engrossed in before I descended on a 10 hour flight to Denver, Colorado. Miss you by Kate Eberlen, was this book!!
I adored the two main characters of this novel and the fact we followed their life from childhood through to adulthood. Neither Tess or Gus were perfect, they’d made mistakes but many aspects of their lives made them very similar, albeit both telling very different stories. Their lives, particularly issues with their families, were so realistic and relatable to many readers.
Each time they crossed paths, I found myself asking ‘is this it?! Are they going to acknowledge each other?’, I was constantly waiting for their lives to come together, at the same time I loved reading both their stories and I was completely enthralled by Tess and Gus individually.
Needless to say, the ending was superb, I was SO happy for both of them, they’d finally found their happiness after such a long time.
I’d absolutely love to read a book two of Miss You, to see where Tess and Gus ended, to find out what was happening 10 years later!!
