Ghosts by Dolly Alderton – Review *Blog Tour*

I’m thrilled to be on today’s stop on the blog tour for Ghosts.

The characters in this book are an absolute dream. I adored Nina. She deserved the world and more. I also bloody loved Lola, we all need a friend like Lola.

I found everything about the book so relatable to me and my life. My mom started reading it as soon as I’d finished and even she laughed and said this is so you. Although I definitely haven’t mastered the art of poaching eggs. Hopefully one day.

The view of modern dating and the journey you go on with friendships as you grow older were so accurate. It’s funny how you steer towards certain friends depending on which path in your life you’re on.

I can appreciate a lot of the frustrations in this book surrounding dating and men of our generation (sorry not sorry 😐). Kinda reassuring that I’m not the only person who cannot find a decent guy on dating apps – can I join Nina and Lolas girl gang now?

The storyline where we witness the gradual decline of Nina’s beloved fathers battle with dementia was moving. Although I found some entertainment from her mothers (Mandy’s?) midlife crises.

As a gen z’er I sometimes find reading gen z/millennial fiction a bit cringy but Dolly Alderton wrote this book to perfection – every element of romance, friendships, life in your 20/30s was spot on. It was the perfect easy, feel good read to get me through a couple of heatwave days!

Huge thank you to Hannah at Penguin Random House for inviting me onto the tour and for my advance copy.
